After exploring this architectural masterpiece, drive to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, where you will visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and see the Hassan Tower, an iconic historical landmark.

Continue your journey north through scenic mountain roads toward Chefchaouen. Upon arrival in the evening, take a relaxing walk through the peaceful, blue-washed medina, enjoy the charming atmosphere, and settle into your accommodation in the heart of the Rif Mountains.

Day 2: Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Fes

Begin the morning with free time in Chefchaouen to explore its picturesque streets, local craft shops, and cozy cafés at your own pace. Afterward, drive through fertile agricultural landscapes to reach Volubilis, the ancient Roman city known for its well-preserved mosaics and archaeological ruins.

Later, continue toward the imperial city of Fes. As you approach the city, enjoy the first panoramic views of its historic medina before checking into your hotel or riad for the night.

Day 3: Guided Tour of Fes

Spend a full day discovering Fes with a professional local guide. Start by stopping at the golden gates of the Royal Palace, then enter the old medina through the famous Blue Gate (Bab Boujloud). Walk through narrow streets filled with lively souks and traditional workshops as you visit important historical sites such as Bou Inania Madrasa and the colorful tanneries.

You will also see the exterior of Al Quaraouiyine University, recognized as the world’s oldest operating educational institution, and enjoy a panoramic viewpoint overlooking the entire medina before returning to your accommodation.

Day 4: Fes → Ifrane → Midelt → Merzouga Desert

Leave Fes and drive into the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, a charming town known for its European-style architecture, then visit the cedar forest near Azrou, where you may see wild Barbary macaques. Continue through the mountain scenery toward Midelt, where you will have lunch.

In the afternoon, pass through the lush green oasis of the Ziz Valley as you descend into the Sahara region. Arrive in Merzouga and switch to camels to ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy the stunning sunset, dinner, and a night under the stars in a traditional desert camp.

Day 5: Merzouga → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley

Wake up early to admire the sunrise over the golden dunes, then return to Merzouga for breakfast before departing toward the Todra Gorge. Travel through Rissani, known for its traditional market and historical importance, and Erfoud, famous for its fossil workshops.

Arrive at the towering canyon walls of Todra Gorge, where you can take a walk along the riverbank and enjoy the impressive natural scenery.
